There are many factors that will determine coat growth: genetic and environmental. If your boy does not mat or tangle easily, he probably has a silk coat, which can be slower growing. If he is tall (long legs) like my boys, growing the coat to the floor will take longer. My boys are full brothers, but Teddy's coat grows faster than Max's.
Max is going to be 3 next month and his topknot is getting really thick. I would say that his coat is finally fully mature.
