Sad Anyone ever had a grieving Yorkie?

Some of you may know that my Maddie passed away last week. Since then, there have been many changes in Monkey. I expected this...I know animals grieve too. I'm just concerned because he is starting to shake a lot...as if he were freezing. He does this when he's laying down, whether he's asleep or not. He often lays by the door shaking. Right now he's laying on my desk by my keyboard and shivering. It's not cold in here at all. The shivering stops as soon as I put my hand on him or pet him and starts back instantly when I stop. Is this because he hasn't been eating as much? Is it simply something dogs do when they grieve. It's as if he were weeping really hard, only without the tears. Is this possible? I feel so bad for him.
