I prefer vet office boarding. They may be less "fun" than doggie daycares, but my dogs can't be around other dogs anyway, and besides I like to be familiar with the staff, etc. If there is a problem, the vet is right there.
In-home visits are nice. Not sure I'd want somebody staying at my house for it. But also I have a snappy girl and can't have her around just anybody. I think vet offices are much less likely to give me a hard time if she were to snap (probably wouldn't happen) because they deal with it all the time.
