I won't be getting any other permanent pets while here unless I find it much easier to take them back to the states then it was to take them out but if she seems sad and we are not enough companionship for her I want to look into fostering while we are here.
As I mentioned in my earlier post - why not look into pet sitting too? It'll be in your own home, for agreed hours, to fit in with you and suit your life style. Ok you'll earn some money (not much!) but that's not the point. It'll give your little girl a selection of dogs to play with and if she doesn't get on with one of them, you don't have to have them back.

I know it's a different area of the UK, but I found Harry's occasional pet sitter on Gumtree! He's brilliant, registered and insured (one dog at a time, looks after police dogs etc.) - it could be worth an ad from you? Fostering in the UK is almost more involved than fostering a baby!!! Oh, I bet you can't wait!! Sally + Harry x
