22 is a very, very low - high. Most vets would probably pay zero attention to a 22. Dr. Center (develper of bile acids test) has a cut off of 25. His enzymes may have been up because he wasn't feeling well or his liver was just a little irritated about something. Heartworm meds, flea meds, and vaccines can potentially make them go up too.

Ellie's bile acids came back at 47 post, then 15 post, then 106 post. When it went to 106, we did go to a specialist (I assume the same one that you have a recommendation for) for an U/S.

If your vet wants you to go or you would be more comfortable, then go for it. I really wouldn't expect any liver abnormalities as far as shunt goes with that number though. Maybe MVD? ..which wouldn't be seen on U/S. I think you can be about 99% sure this is not a shunt. Theoretically possible, but highly improbable.
