You really never know until you try. She may figure out what to do, or it may take her a while. What I would do is to give her a large piece, whether you go with lamb ribs, a chicken drumstick, chicken wing, or turkey neck, etc. Try to avoid anything small enough that would be able to be swallowed whole. If you need to take the bone away, be prepared to "trade" her for something else. Example: small diced piece of fish, chicken, etc.

I didn't think that out very well then. I ordered a bunch of different and I believe only one kilo of no liver chicken. I did, after I ordered see that a store right near me stocks it so I will definitely start her on the no liver chicken an go to the store near by and pick up more as I need it before letting her into the ones with liver. Thank you! I wondered as I was ordering if she needed the liver every day or every meal and that was the only reason I ordered the chicken without to use in between.
Once she is settled and doing fine on the diet how often should she actually get the ones with liver added?
Thanks again everyone, I can not wait to get her started next week! |
She will "tell" you how often she can tolerate the liver. I would alternate no liver, then liver. See how it goes. If her stool is normal for a week, increase the amount of food with liver. Key being, give her time to get used to the food without the liver first, that way, if loose stool arises, you know the most likely culprit and can simply adjust the amount you are feeding.
