First introduction on neutral territory is a good idea. I never could figure how to do that repeatedly, however, once I owned both dogs.

Once she's home; she's home.

Is there anyway you could take Charlie to meet her before you bring her home? If they hit it off right away; you will know that the transition might be easier.

We had to keep ours separated for a while until my 4 y/o Westie got used to having Lucy around. They were kept in separate crates and only together when walking or outside in the big yard. While in the house - not together - until everyone could get along.

Pick up toys and treats and don't leave anything on the floor until you know they won't fight over them.

Pay your older dog more attention than you do the puppy so he won't be jealous.
