I can totally understand why you felt the way you did. I am not a Mom yet, but am an aunt to a active 6 year old nephew. We will not let him play out in heavy rain. He is really prone to ear infections and if he is out there even 10 minutes in the rain, you can bet your boots he'll be feeling puny the next day. But I personally would not want my own kids out there in their good clothes. I mean, kids clothes now days are kinda pricey. And if I have to pay for them, I want to encourage them to try and take care of them. I think if it's sprinkling or light rain (no thunder/lightning) and they were in play clothes with a adult out there, I would'nt mind too much. But I still wouldn't let them stay out too long.
