Secret They never forget.

I really like your post. It shows how much you love your Yorkie and are concerned about her happiness. For the most part dogs live in the now. She will never forget someone she loves. But, she will adjust to a new routine.
When an elderly person died, I saw her older dog who had spent her entire life with just that one person, accept a new family and home. The dog seemed to understand her best friend had gone away and that these good people were her new family.
It may take a while for her to grasp that your daughter is not coming home every day like before. She will transfer her needs to you and may need a little more affection than usual . Then things will settle into a new pattern. She will feel safe and secure if she gets what she is used to. Meals, playtime, walks, and of course lap time.
