Hi! My new puppy is almost 6 months old. I got him a month ago and the potty training is going nowhere! We tried to crate train him and It was awful because we found out he used to live 24 hrs. caged and for him going where he lived was ok. So when I tried that method it was totally natural for him to go and he would sit on his pee and poop and of course get it all over him and around the crate. After a week without any improvement we decided to get rid of the crate and try again because the cleaning sesisions day and night where too much and it felt like the poopwas spreading everywhere!
Then we started trying to take him outside and he seemed to start getting the concept. But now, after a month he doesn't let us know when he needs to go! He is peeing all over (and us stepping on it)! We limit the water intake but that is not helping much either.
We don't know what else to do, my husband takes him out at 5 am and by the time I cime down at 7 he has already peed again, tHen I take him out at 8:15 and by 1:15 when I come he's peed agAin!!! I know he is old enough to hold it for 5 hours because he is 6 months, so what can I do? My older yorkie was fully potty trained by now and it is not that I want to compare, but it seems he is old enough to get it and do a better job. Help!!!!!
