I bought Harley from a great breeder who gave me exactly what we were looking for. We are both young with limited budgets (me and the bf) and I knew that in my heart I had enough time and money to train a puppy and provide a small emergency fund, I've rescued horses in the past and knew that I had to have a lot more money and time if I took on a rescue.
We made the sound decision that it wasn't fair to rescue a dog if we couldn't afford to completely save it's life (any necessary vet bills, therapy, and training). When I finish school I would like our 2nd or third dog to be a rescue. I'm not against buying from a breeder (because I compete in agility, and some times you're just looking for a certain build etc) but would love to take a rescue and take it through the agility ranks as well.
