We bought from a good breeder. Before I did much research I was thinking it would be 'nice' to get a rescue and I ended up emailing someone locally whose phone# was on some rescue site and told her what I was thinking. I'll admit I probably indicated some ignorance, but her email reply was so rude that I decided at that point not to try to rescue. In retrospect I'm glad I didn't. This is my first yorkie puppy (had a cocker from puppyhood until she died at age 13 10 years ago) and I'm still absolutely in learning mode. I probably wouldn't have been a good mom for a rescue, but I can tell I'm not going to be satisfied forever with just one of these cuties so maybe a rescue is in my future
