 Did you buy? OR rescue?
How many of you have bought your dogs? And how many of you have rescued your dogs? And whats your rescue stories?
I have a yorkie, who needed a home at the age of 7 weeks, the owner(an older gentlemen) bought and couldnt potty train, and so he didnt want him any more, i work at a vet clinic, and so he gave him to me. So i just got him given to me for free. He wasnt abused or neglected, he just didnt want him, and didnt deserve him.
I paid for my jack russell/ rat terrier mix. He was our first dog after we got married.
And a puggle/jack Russell mix was a rescue for sure. His owners had his mother, and she got pregnant on accident by their daughters puggle. Long story short, they brought the pregnant mom to the vet where i work to find out how many puppies , there were 6. And they said they didnt want her tied down taking care of puppies, and they didnt want mutts, so they would kill them asap after being born. So i offered, and they agreed to let me take them all immediately after being born, and i bottle fed all of them , and they all survived. None got to nurse or anything, they lived 2 hrs from us, and we started driving as soon as she went into labor, and they were still bloody, she didnt even let the mom clean them, she just tossed them in a laundry basket and handed them to me. It was a very rewarding experience though. I enjoyed every minute of it though.
And last but not least, we just rescued a Labrador puppy, from a girl and her boyfriend who got him and tied him to their tree, they had him from 8 weeks to 4 months. He is the best puppy i have ever had.
I will never buy another dog again, i will only rescue! Too many unwanted lives. |
