I just wanted to post my experience with Frontline Flea products and their company. I've used them in the past and have not had issues, but this time around I did. I bought six (Two packages) I have seven Yorkies. None had fleas, but August, September, October they will usually pick up one or two when they go out to potty so these are the months I use the frontline. I also want to add that they are kept immaculate, and bathed and groomed every other week. Anyway, I applied the Frontline and less then two weeks later, they all had fleas. I gave them a bath and by hand defleaed them, etc. Lot's of flea dirt as well. I was very disappointed that although they advertise it as a preventative, and as it lasting a month it in my oppinion did not do it's job. Everyone that uses it also knows it's not a cheap product. Well, I decided to call them and tell them my complaint. The first call I made I got a tech that was very nasty. It bothered me all night, so I contacted them again the next day hoping to get someone better. Nope, this tech wasn't nasty but they were certainly trained not to stand behind their product. I explained what had happened and why I was disappointed. Both techs told me that Front line is NOT a preventative and it is suppose to be used on dogs that have fleas because it kills within 48 hours on contact. I mentioned the fact that they advertise it as a preventative and they got around that by telling me that it's a preventative in that it prevents fleas from infesting your house, by killing the fleas on your dog. Finally, I got tired of the double talk and just said to them, well you have a satisfaction guarantee and it states if not satisfied you will refund the $$ or give new product. They went around that too, the tech stated to me in order to qualify for that I had to follow all their guidelines. She used the fact, that I told her that all the dogs received one full vial of of frontline, all but the two tinies who my vet reccomended due to their only being 3 lbs. getting 1/2 vile each. I also told her that they did not have any issues with fleas, they are inside and litter box traied. It was the bigger Yorkies that go outside to potty that had the fleas. She told me that I did not qualify for their satisfaction guarantee because ALL the dogs had to have a full vial. To me it was their way around giving a refund or replacing the product. My concern with this is 1. if they do not stand behind it when someone is unhappy with the way it worked, then you can be sure if your dog gets sick or has a reaction from the product they certainly will not stand behind it. You'll get the runnaround and a lot of double talk. 2. My question and they couldn't answer it was how do you say that a dog 22 lbs. should get a full vile and a 3 lb. dog should get the same amount? No answer for that except they are the guidelines. I went by what my vet reccomended with the two little ones and this tech is telling me my vet is wrong. Yet, the two tinies were protected and had no fleas, and the bigger dogs that went outside to potty had them. I just wanted to warn consumers that I would find a different flea prevantative or treatment. Not because I felt this did not work the way it should this time around, but because of the attitudes of their employees. They will not back their product or help you in anyway if you have an issue. To me that speaks volumes about how they'd act if your dog was to get sick from their product!! Elaine
