I would try to get as much info from the previous owner about his routine as possible. Like how is he used to going potty? On puppy pads, or did they take him out for a walk? I know it is very confusing to a dog to be taken out of it's usual routine, especially the potty routine. He might not be used to grass or whatever surface you are using. One of my dogs was used to always going for a walk at least twice a day and when we moved to a house with a back yard I tried to get him to just go out back and pee. It did not go over well at all. He kept waiting for me to take him for his walk.
Of course he is going to be disturbed by someone watching TV in his bedroom. I would move him into your room or some quiet place where no one is going to wake him up. Hope things go well for you and his adjustment time. Keep us posted on how he is doing. |
