If there is not an underlying health issue, could be as simple as using good hair products. The first couple of times I bathed Max when he was a pup, I used a shampoo off the shelf from Walmart. He smelled like a yucky wet dog. Then I bought some better shampoo and conditioner and found that Max has no smell at all. More than 2 years later, he still has zero smell.
Teddy has a distinctive puppy smell, like a human baby. I love it!
