I experiences a fair amount of frustration while training Dink because he did not catch on very fast. Then he would make progress, and then mess up. It took longer for him to catch on than other dogs I am familiar with. My sister's Aussie Shepherd was trained when she got him, and he took about two days to figure out what to do at her house.
I think it was at least 3 weeks before Dinky even figured out what I was trying to get him to do. He was 5 months when we got him, and he was probably fully trained by 7 months. I just did not know if he was ever going to get it. But he did. I just had to hang in there. |
