She said she would call me. I texted her to check in about 5 she texted me back with "its not good, Ill call you when I can"

Well I just got a text from her, "hes gone" she then texted me that the Vet said he had a seizure and probably couldnt get to his water, his temp was 107 and it caused brain damage.

I am not sure what happened. I know that she leaves him outside when she is at work, I know it was about 100 today. I know she gives him shade, food and water..

I am so sad for her, I dont even know what to tell her or how I support her. I want to get her some flowers and a card... Is that too much? Ive never really had to deal with a friend loosing a pet so I am not sure what I should do?

Thoughts?
I am so sorry for your friend, that is so tragic.
When Bunkey passed away, several of my friends sent me sympathy cards that were for pets. One of the kids that I helped bring into the world, stopped by and brought me flowers, held me until I stopped crying. Each of my friends sent me a text everyday for a week to ask how I was, several listened to me cry on the phone.
Loosing a furbaby is loosing a very special friend that holds a place in your life and heart that noone else has. Supporting your friend in her sorrow is one of the best things that you can do for her.
