With the expen, you can Give her designated areas. She might mess up at first, but that's to be expected. The most important part for both methods is consistency and patients. A schedule works great too! Even in an expen, if you have a schedule, you can always walk her over to or place her on the pad. When she goes, use tons and tons of praise!

As far as your chi, you can put him on the same schedule. Praise, and treat for a job well done. Don't give either free roam unless they've earned it by proving they know what to do. Your Chi might resist, because he's set in his ways, but it's never too late for him to learn. Good luck and we're here if you need us!
