We live in a tiny apt. Granted, Kaji was pad trained at around 18 months, so he was able to hold for a while. I keep one pad down, in one location only. His pad is in the bathroom. It's even taped half up on the wall for him to lift his leg. It helps keep him clean, and he prefers to lift his leg. He has 0 accidents, so I don't mind taping his pad up 3 times a day. He even goes from the bedroom to the bathroom in the middle of the night if he needs to. I dont leave any lights on for him.
