i agree wit the others. this is a personal desicion, but i can give you my experience..

I had every intention of crate training. but i caved on day 1- i couldnt handle him crying and it was upsetting my other dog. I got him when he was 8 weeks old, and he was little (he is now 18 weeks and 2lbs, dont know his weight at 8weeks) anyway, i felf ok with this because i am a very light sleeper and i put a bell on him, so at first he would move and i was up. I have big pillows going down the length of his side of the bed so he cant fall off. and i would just get up and take him to his pee pads and get back in bed..

Now he can hold it through the night. he wakes me up with sweet kisses around 7/8 to potty. then we get back into bed and i tell him- its still bedtime, go to sleep baby.. he knows what that means, so he will just fall asleep and we'll get up around 9..

i think they are pretty goog at learning our patterns so this wont take long. when he was about 13 weeks old he was sleeping through the night. mind you he isnt entirely potty trained, so i dont want him getting up by himself. by getting up with him i know there are no accidents on my carpet..

But i love sleepin gwith him so getting up to take him potty is a sacrifice i was willing to make..
