Default Acute Reaction to Vaccinations

My poor 11 week old Lilly got her first set of shots today. The vet was very good about giving her some Benadryl before the vaccines to help ward off any allergic response. Within a couple of hours Lilly was shaking and whining constantly. Then she would scream in pain if you even touched. Took her back to the vet and she had 2 shots of cortisone which greatly helped to relieve her discomfort. She had a reaction called parathesia which makes all nerve endings extremely painful.
Not sure about her second set of sits in 3 weeks. The vet says she will give Benadryl and Cortisone before the Vaccinations. I never want her to have to go through this again. She is supposed to have no activity until tomorrow night. Try telling that to a puppy who is feeling better!
Has anyone else experienced this type of reaction.? I kinda hope the answer is no!
