I was taught at a very early age to stop and think about what I am about to do or say and see if it is something I would want someone else to do or say to me. It may have made me a little too empathetic because I always think of how I would feel if I were in someone else's situation and I connect really closely. Yes, kids learn most of their values at home but their friends are a big influence as well. We have all seen kids who were taught well at home throw it all out the window when they get with a group of kids. These "flash mobs" that are taking place are a big eye opener to some but it is just a symptom of what is going on. |
