It did take a while though, because I'm not naturally cunning. The part I'm still not understanding is what's the point. Two or three friends enter a bunch of dogs in a show to build up a few points. They've been on the scene a few years and are known to the judges. A newby showing up with a gorgeous dog will most likely be overlooked by most judges until a year or two of being out there every weekend and becomes a familiar face. The show regulars will make their dogs look good or bad depending on who they've decided amongst themselves should win the points. Voila, a champion is made, but what is that champion worth in a mostly rigged system? I know it isn't like that all the time everywhere, but I've seen and heard enough.
