DON't DO IT!!!! Lol, I did that very same thing, only to look back and regret that I did. It did clean up Lucy's appearance... But she lost that 'baby' look forever *wipes tear*
Now in Lucy's case, I ended up having to re-shave her, as the vet diagnosed ringworm not long after I did it... So it would've had to been done anyway. But still... I wish I could have just left it alone!!!
