My hubby, the furbabies and I are very fortunate that we inherited a small, rather old motorhome a few years ago. It doesn't look like much but my husband keeps it in good shape and the pups love to go places in it.
When the first storm enters the Gulf, we get it all ready with plenty of extra gasoline stored in a small trailer we pull, go on and pack it with the pics and documents we need along with plenty of food and water for all of us so we can take off with 30 to 45 minutes notice.
I've lived on the Gulf Coast all my life and been through more hurricanes than I care to remember. I promised myself when I became an adult and it was my decision I would never stay through one again. I've packed up and left with four horses and three dogs before. |
