Same here. Kaji has bad LP in both knees. You wouldn't know it if you saw him. I do measure his food out carefully, to keep his weight down, and he is not allowed to jump onto high places. Steps are a good investment, or you can do what I'm planning to do, get a bed low to the ground. I also taught Kaji to ask to be picked up. My mom has a really high bed, and if we're all on it, Kaji will come over and scratch the side then wait to be picked up.
