I would think that the EC would suggest that you bring the puppy in for an exam. Has blood work been done on him? If not, I would strongly suggest you either get him in to the EC tonight...or get him to the vet first thing in the morning. Blood work would show if he has anemia or any major organ problems due to the toxic effect of the zinc. This could have affected his liver. No one will be able to advise you on the phone.

I will keep your puppy in my prayers.
