Oh, he's not cottony coat and I know cottony coat as on my dear sweet Sophie!! She mats, not real shiney but super soft. Color on Yorkies I think is the biggest variable. We have a total of 5 Yorkies in our family and I think only 1 would meet the standard of color(the one on the left on my avatar) but I think her coat is too wavey. We have 2 that look like platinum blondes (one on the far right)with dark roots (as in needing a touch up badly)and 1 of which has really curly hair. As the fur grows it goes from dark to silver. Quite a mixture of colors & textures.
