yes I agree the local kennel club is a helpful place to start and have been working on hooking up with people from there and was at one point working with someone but she moved!! that is why I started learning and being around people of like mind many years ago and even started showing some (not my dog) in 2004 and been doing rescue since 1997 and grooming and service work as well. I wanted to have as much back ground as I could I really thought she was trust worthy I even had talked to some other people that had got dogs from her....and since have learned more of the story and wished I knew more before I bought her but either way she is here now and all I can really do is give her the gift of living not just surviving every time I think of what she has gone through I cry and get mad all at the same time!! she is a blessing and very special to me and my family it's funny in a way to see her scared and in love all at the same time hehehe she makes me giggle and she tries new things for the 1st time it's so heart lifting and cute as heck to hear my husband say to her "ain't no one gonna hurt and be mean to that baby no more daddy's got you" lol big smile comes across my face man i can go on and on but I just am hurting for her and great-full we can give her just what she needs!! and that makes me soooo happy!! |
It makes me smile to read your post about your husband wanting to protect Bella. I think it's wonderful that he has her and she has him. If she is able to live in a home where people love her and want only to proect her - a place where she can live and be pampered and nothing more is expected from her, she will thrive! It sounds like that is exacty what you are doing with her. Things happen to us in life that seem so unfair at times, such as you being sent this baby that was misrepresented - but I bet in time this baby will be a blessing to you and your family. Give it time and I bet she will end up meaning more to you than any show dog you can imagine! It sounds like she has already stolen your hearts. Good luck and best wishes to Bella and your family!
