I have had pups get majorly stuck and had to rush to the vet..the mothers life as a rule is not in danger because a pup is stuck..there is usually plenty of time to get to the vet. Most often labor stops and the stuck pup may die ...but no way am I cutting into the vulva of my bitch to remove a puppy.

LOL Pat, this time you saved me from the typing. My thoughts exactly. My bitch is more important than a puppy any day. Yes, if a pup is stuck, there is time to call the vet and have them meet you even if after hours. Uncomfortable for the bitch while getting to vet? yes. Butchering your girl to save one pup? No way. Any vet that would teach someone to do such a thing would have to be a little off their rocker IMO
