My Yorkie Jax is a winter dog, I think because he was born in October and I housetrained him in December-Feb. He would stick his face in the snow and get a snow beard, it was so cute! The cold didn't seem to bother him at all. Once he even peed in snow that was up to his belly! Even now he always likes to lie on the cool hardwood floors, often in front of the AC vent.
My Toy Fox terrier, on the other hand, loves the heat and will go outside to sunbathe up until the 90's or so, when she lies in the shade instead. When the heat is on, she always lies in front of the vent. It's funny how dogs' tolerance for heat/cold can vary so much. |
