Thanks everyone! Most of the time I feed him in the bedroom and Cali and Roxie in the kitchen and Pixie in the living room. A gate separates them but Cali won't eat her food and waits at the gate. My main concern is while I am gone because it is hard leaving anyone with 4 dogs and then tack on the food frenzy issue. They also eat 3 times a day. Thanks Bonny for googling it. The vet said Nikki could eat either canned or kibble. I may try the kibble moistened and see if the vet will take it back if he has any issues. That's a good idea Crystal. I will try that. I just feel bad for my 3 since Nikki has come here he has taken over the spot next to me and attacks Cali when she comes by him. I know I also need to get tougher on my girls to eat their own food. Bob, Nikki's kidney disease was mild so a few days on non kidney food probably wouldn't make a difference. He is estimated to be 18 years old so I think for his age his values were pretty good but we wanted to do everything we could to keep it at bay. Thanks for all the input. |
