That's exactly how Ginger's was! Ginger actually did it on a training pad because I had her in an xpen with her stomach acting up. I cut out that section of pad, put it on a paper plate and covered it with another. I took it to the vet when I took her. I know that's crazy but the vet was thrilled to have the specimen.

One more thing to note with HGE is that if they have had it once, they are more likely to have it again so you have to watch for the signs and get treatment right away. If left untreated, it's fatal.
