I hope it didn't leave babies behind! I know you said you cleaned out the room really good but is it possible to have the babies in/under the washer or dryer? Just let her investigate the heck out of the room untill she realizes that there is nothing in there. Just a thought.
oh and better mice than rats...my cousin lived near a stream and the rats were huge!
