Sorry, got off track from the OP. I lived in the South for a while and picked up that habit of calling everyone sir and ma'am. Didn't realize "ma'am" could be offensive. Might have to rethink that one.
Since moving back up North, I really do miss the South. The food is really good. Unfortunately, I am trapped in Pennsylvania Dutch country - the hometown food is TERRIBLE!!!
