When I couldn't find one (being Yorkie are mixed Yorkie) at an area rescue, that's when I extended my search to breeders in the area (my area being the Upper Great Lakes Region). The breeder I found has Yorkies and Parti Yorkies. The one I'm picking up tomorrow has a parti mom and a standard dad. I will love her with all my heart, perfect or not.
Originally I was going to buy a Maltese puppy from a friend when she was old enough. The puppies are just over a week old and very, very cute, but I didn't feel a connection like I did when Sydney, my 2-year-old female Yorkie, found me. So, I started my search over. When I saw the little girl's picture in WI, my heart skipped a beat. I just knew that my daughter was there even though I realize that this breeder isn't listed with the Yorkie Breeder Website (which I did check).
Sometimes puppy love happens that way. We can't help how we feel, but it's how we react to that feeling that counts. For me, I knew that Maltese puppy would find its perfect parents. The little girl I'm picking up tomorrow is my match. |
I know you are in love with that puppy, but the reason we warn people away from breeders like this is because a breeder who does not make sure the dogs are purebred, or who breeds dogs that look nothing like the breed is supposed to look, are cutting corners. And if they cut corners on something as important as that, trust me, they are cutting corners everywhere else, too.
