Usually, my dad gave us money to give the delivery guy a tip. On this particular day, I guess he was too tired and didn't really notice how much he gave us. I think there might have been less than a dollar for tip. Anyway, my brother and I went outside the apt building. I got the pizzas, my brother paid. As we were walking away, I heard the guy muttering, "I hate my life." My older brother wasn't paying attention, and replied, "your welcome."
Poor delivery guy! He was probably having a horrible day, and a 13 year old kid added insult to injury. I tease my brother about it to this day. |
OMG that is so sad and so funny! My older sis used to always make me and my little bro get the door when they delivered the pizza, bc they "wouldn't get mad at a kid for not tipping". I used to tip bad for delivery drivers. Then bf told me he used to deliver pizzas. Not only is the hourly wage terrible, you have to pay for your own gas, insurance, all the car stuff, plus the delivery fee they pizza joint tags on is for the owner, not the driver! So factor in the price of gas, they really only get about 50 cents per delivery, so if you don't tip them, they really are losing money. If you don't want to tip your delivery driver, then get in your car and drive the one mile to pickup your pizza yourself!
