 Roxi & possible liver shunt
I took Roxi in today to get spayed. I was really nervous about doing this in the first place because of her small size (2.5 pounds and 8 mos old). The presurgery bloodwork showed high liver enzymes ?? (hers was a 38). So no spay today.
Her vet is taking more blood and sending it somewhere in Tennessee for more testing. Depending on what that shows, she said that the next step would be an ultrasound.
Does this sound like the the proper course of action? Other than her small size, she has had no symptoms of what I have read about liver shunts.
Is there a forum on YorkieTalk for liver shunts or can someone direct me to a good website for good, accurate information? Thanks.
