Don't know the cause really. Sometimes a change in diet makes a huge difference, sometimes it's the drinking water. The cause may differ from one dog to another.
I love that you call it an eye goober. We call them eye boogies here but that make is sound really gross. I like eye goobers better think I may have to start using that
