Ellie likes to do that too. And I hate putting my finger so far back, but that's life I suppose. Some of the pills were a little big for her and she hates being pilled anyway, so what I started doing was coating them in a very thin layer of some type of wet food she could have (you could do the canned) and putting it back there that way.
