To the OP, most breeders will say boys are more affectionate than girls, but there are enough individual differences that it depends more on your particular dog, not some obscure average. The idea of pet ownership should be YOU giving love and affection anyway, not really a dog loving you isn't it? That said, I believe girls are more fun to dress, but there are a lot of cute things for boys too. |
This is how I felt with Maddie. As soon as I picked her up and she sighed and settled into my neck, I knew she was mine!
I only have a girl Yorkie but would never trade her for anything. She is my girl. The only time she has ever chosen her daddy over me was around the time I started showing during pregnancy. From about 12-16 weeks she acted as if she didn't want to have anything to do with me. (I wondered if it was because of hormonal changes that happen when carrying a boy??) Anyway, I was heart broken and finally won her back.
