It will get better - hang in there!! Your pup is looking to you for everything right now and is basically a toddler that only thinks of his needs.

I have a dog sitter come by everyday for a mid-day visit with my little gremlins. The mid-day play time seems to really help. It gets them out of their puppy area and they are super excited to have to have a visitor.

These guys are a lot of work but they are worth it. The best time attention task for my puppies has been the Kong. When I get home from work, after the attack of the puppy kisses, I get their little kongs and put some wellness jerky in them and then top it off with a piece of biscuit to secure the jerky (I kind of push the first piece I put in to the bottom to make it a little more challenging) and then let them have at it. They love the jerky time. Will usually distract them for about 30 minutes. Not a long time, but enough for me to get a few things done.

Instead of crate training mine, I decided to give them a puppy area. They have the master bathroom for their space. I have crate in their area but do not shut the door. They have a little play space with some toys and soft beds, but their also have their cave when they want it.

I saw a treat ball at petsmart that you fill with some treats and then they dogs play with it until the treats fall out. Something like that might entertain your guy for a little while.

Good luck and hang in there. Just remember that this is all new to Henry too. He has to learn to live in a new place and a lot of rules. He will depend on you for everything in his little life - no, not just your time and energy. You will feed him, walk him, love him, play with him (not always as much - he will calm down in time), and make sure he is safe and healthy. In return, he will love you unconditionally and always. He will always be happy when you come home. Your walks together will be the highlight of his day. He will give you so much love in his own little way - just give him some time.
