Saliva or urine wet spot? Ernie is 13 years old and weighs in about 10 ponds. Ernie sleeps at the foot of our bed and 3 days ago we woke up to find Ernie lying in a wet spot on the blanket which was as big around as his body. We first thought that he was in such a deep sleep that he lost control and may have urinated. It has happened now three nights in a row. However, we placed Ernie on a white towel in the bed and the "puddle" was not yellow but clear. Ernie spends a lot of tine "cleaning his feet" by licking them and when he lays next to me on the sheet and does this he leaves maybe a 6 inch circle wet spot. Now we're wondering if he is maybe over-salivating and the wet spot we are seeing is actually saliva. We talked to the vet who wants to test his urine as a start to anaylzing this problem and we are bringing a urine sample to the vet today. Anyone ever have a problem like this? |
