I can help you here because Lady was spayed using micro surgery (laser). The reason was her size, she was old enough to be spayed but still very tiny,so laser was the best option (she is 2lbs at 2 years old and was spayed last year).
There is no scaring and no stitches (the tiny hole is glued shut) with this surgery because everything is done through two very little holes on each side of the abdomen. They insert a metal tube in each hole, one is a light and through the other they do surgery. Its very quick, infact Lady was under for a total of about 30minutes and afterwards there was no way of telling that she had been spayed because they didnt even have to cut her hair. Also, she was eating an hour later and jumping around that night, the recovery was practically imediate.
Its the best method in my opinion although they dont use it on all dogs here, its reserved for the smaller ones and puppies.I asked about having Jess spayed with micro surgery but she would having normal surgery unless I go outside my pet insurance and pay for her to have micro surgery.
I hope Iv helped
