I hope this is the right forum...
Anyway, My mom is fed up with her 1 yr old male Yorkie, Luke. And I'm kind scared for him
Yesterday, Luke peed on the couch. This is maybe the second time he has done this. My mom was furious. She believes in the spanking method to train dogs (which i don't like) and let me tell you...she spanked him. Spanked him so had that he pooped himself.
(She left bruises, too) I don't know why he would pee there. My mom says he had an attidue from not being able to go in the garage (he wanted to play out there, for some reason) so my mom said that's why he ran back to the livning room and peed on the couch.)
Earlier today, I think he may have peed a little in the laundry room. I just cleaned it up, and when my mom asked about I told her I didn't know which dog did it. (we have another yorkie named Lina. She might have done it, actually, but Luke was acting very scared/guilty.)
So now , my mom decided she is not gonna let him get on the couch anymore. So all day she has been keeping him off the couch, occasionaly hitting him if he jumps up there, even though he's been used to getting on the couch for one year. The thing is Lina is still allowed on the couch.
So I don't know if this was his attitude or not, but maybe 30 minutes ago he squatted (unusual for him, btw. He doesn't sqaut much anymore) and peed on the rug. My mom basically raged, and hit him. (Also, I'm not too keen about the way she hit him, either.)
So, during this whole period, I've been looking up symptoms of UTI's in dog, and I'm not sure if he has that, or if he's just needs an attitude adjusment. could it just be his attitude? Anyway, my mom wants is thinking of giving him up, or as she told me, "i might just kill him" (I don't think she'll go through with the killing thing though, my mom likes to exagerate.)
Please, help. Is our Yorkie sick, or just has a major attitude?
