I haven't experienced this as mine has been very fond of kids. Aja and my 2 yr old are best friends and she both are very gently and loving towards each other.
It is probably because children are unpredictable, zoom by very fast etc. and your yorkies were never brought up with them from the get go.
I think it would be best to start off holding your yorkie and slowly introducing them to children. Supervise well to avoid injury and upsetting your yorkie.
