I prefer recognizable ingredients, fresh food, etc., but that's not always possible or best. My dog kept losing weight on homecooked food probably because she couldn't break the protein source down. Now she eats soy. So my vegan dog is on a one or two star food, but at least she is alive.
I used to use dogfoodanalysis as my food reference "bible". However, the authors are not veterinary nutritionists. They aren't experts in the field. That is the opinion I look for first now...experts in the field. |
