If it were me and I felt the puppy was perfect except for the mild LP I would do it. I have 4 and they all have some degree of LP. Only one has needed surgery and I felt maybe I could have gotten by with out it if I had waited and tried more conservative methods. My 18 year old has it and he does just fine. As long as you know up front and are prepared to have the surgery IF it is ever necessary and try and limit jumping I would get him. I use ramps and stairs and train them from day one to use them rather than jump.
