I still went out to see the puppy because she was not that far from me, and in my 6 months of research, I hadn't found a breeder that was local enough to go "check things out" and actually hold and play with a new puppy.
OMG why did I fall in love with this little guy??? He is sooo sweet, he just nuzzled me the whole time. WHen I put him down, he just ran inbetween my feet and wanted to play on them. I felt like we instantly bonded! I also got to see the mother and she was just a doll, very mild mannered and absolutely stunning.
Now I am torn! Does anyone here on YT have a yorkie or biewer with LP? I have already purchased furniture stairs. The breeder says hes Grade 1 and that he is not in any pain nor does it affect his walking or playing. She said there is a small possibility he may need surgery when he is older, I don't have a problem dealing with this but what do you all think? PLEASE help, I am thinking of placing a deposit today.... |
Grade 1 LP is no big deal in my view and it is unlikely to ever require surgery. Many yorkies live just fine without surgery, and surgery is only recommended when the dog is lame, so if a vet says your dog needs surgery on a grade 1, run for the hills with your little dog in tow. My dog Daisy was diagnosed at age 8 weeks with bilateral grade 4 LPs. She needed surgery on one at age 2. She's almost 11 now and she's had no other problems. She runs faster than the others and jumps on and off of furniture and in and out of the car.
